I got more excited and more excited-er as the lesson went…just waiting to see the images “emerge” and you did not disappoint. It is easy to see why this client keeps having you do commissions for their “yacht”…..WHAT A YACHT….there must be so many rooms you’ll have commissions for more paintings when you’re in your 80’s. But mostly, you can achieve the “words”….be it secluded…sunny…stormy…whatever it is they ask for. THAT is where the talent comes in.
Might be a fun assignment to take a “word”—a descriptive emotion or visual adjective and see what your blog-ees come up with.
Loved this! Your vision is always astounding in creating a place like this beach with an ocean view; a place I’m sure I’ve been to based on how real it looks! It is that vision that always teaches me again and again that this is indeed how to do it, how to capture this wonderful place, this is how you make a flat surface in the underpainting and sketch into a ‘place’ where I can place myself there and practically hear the ocean. Thank you– we all needed a dose of the Caribbean! I’ve been ticking off all the islands in the Caribbean I’ve visited. So…. my point is this; you nailed it. Well done! I’m sure your client will be thrilled.
PS– LOVE love love the pirate immitation. You’re so adorable! Big hugs!
